World: August 19- September 14
During this month, you will be studying the world map.
On Thursday, August 22nd, you will be responsible for labeling the 7 continents of the world and the 4 oceans (Atlantic, Pacific, Arctic & Indian). Don’t forget to practice the spelling of each because spelling will count!
On Thursday, August 29th, in addition to being able to label the continents and oceans, you will also be responsible for being able to locate the Equator, the Prime Meridian, the Tropics of Capricorn and Cancer, and the Arctic and Antarctic Circles on the world map.
The quizzes on September 5th and 12th will be for those students who did not pass the quiz on the previous week. A passing score is 90% correct.

North America: Sept. 16- Oct. 11
During this month, you will be studying the map of North America. On Thursday, September 19th, you will be responsible for knowing the location of 17 North American countries, the territories of Puerto Rico (U.S.) and Greenland (Demark) as well as the three bordering oceans (Arctic, Pacific and Atlantic). The spelling of each country name will be provided; your focus is learning the locations.
On Thursday, September 26th, you will be responsible for the information above, as well as being able to list the capital of each country. The capital names will also be provided.
The geography quizzes on the 3rd and 10th of October are for those students who did not pass the quiz on the previous week. A passing score is 90% or above.
